Description
Etched and hand chipped glass wall or screen.
The glass is 12’ w X 6' h overall, made in 3 panels.
Each panel is 4’ X 6’ x 1/2" (not shown is 2’ that is buried into a steel frame below.
Artistic process:
Flower carved front and back, hand painted with oil, varnish and UV sealer (cold painted), Center is hand chipped, hand painted. Wall: carved. etched, chipped, then etched again. Little windows are 3/8” square. Steps are hand chipped. Mountains are etched, shaded Artwork is created on both the front and back face of the glass. Glass is 1/2” regular clear annealed float. Birds are carved then gilded with 18k leaf. Condition of all is like new with the exception of some oxidation on gold of birds. Text is etched, then cold painted. 1990's.
