Description
The Oculus Series is created by combining very stable forms, i.e. the circles within the square, where identical pieces of metal are added. This creates a series of meditative images that pulls in the viewer to discover the subtle variables in the painted areas, that can be interpreted in many ways depending on who is looking.
The painted surface is built up with ca 20 layers of oil glazes using dry mineral pigments over thin layers of marble dust. As the pigments have no filler, it allows for great translucencies, which in turn creates very rich colors. The metal is hand sanded aluminum.
